Mottled Black, male, 13 weeks
FIRST
Wow! This boy looks closer to 6 months than 13 weeks. It seems a bit unfair to have him in the pup class, as he’d still be a contender if entered as an adult. He’s got a very nice build with a handsome face. His tail is gorgeous with a very nice tuft. His fur is bright and clean, and his coat color and pattern form a lovely example for a black mottled. Would really like to see him in a few more months. Bet he’s a showstopper, though the owner may need to take care to ensure he doesn’t get too fat if he’s already so bulky at this age.

THIRD
Unfortunately for this guy, he’s just a little baby in the photos, and he simply can’t compete with the older kids. All gerbils go through an awkward ratty phase between the adorable fluffy pup stage and their final adult form, and he’s in it right now. None of his parts match because he still has a lot of growing to do. I can say that he appears to have a nice tail and eye set, and he looks healthy and inquisitive. His color pattern is pied with some extra white markings splashed over his hindquarters. Let’s reevaluate him a few months down the road.

Burmese, male, 7 weeks
SECOND
Cute little kid with a nice Burmese color already well developed (the points on CP gerbils take time to darken). He looks very good for just seven weeks of age, though it’s hard to assess his head shape in the photos (eyes and ears appear correct, however). It seems that he may have excess white on his front feet, but again, this could be an artifact of the photos. Fur is a little ruffled and tail tapers at the tip. Still, a good-looking baby.
